These totemic objects were cast from rubber fishing weights found at Spurn Point, a sand tidal island located off the tip of the coast of the East Riding of Yorkshire, where they washed up from the fierce North Sea. Inspired by ceremony and the seasons, they hint towards Paganism. We consider them spirit beings, who have journeyed across Europe to accompany Das Hund performances as an emblem of community, and featured in exhibitions as friendly deities to bring good luck.
